Job Description

Project Delivery Group (PDG) , a leading construction manager and general contractor based in Southern California, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive our strategic growth initiatives. With a proven track record of delivering comprehensive construction solutions from conception to completion, PDG is known for its expertise, innovative thinking, and unwavering commitment to client satisfaction. We are poised for significant expansion in the vibrant Southern California market, and we need a passionate leader to help us forge new paths.

About Project Delivery Group: At PDG, we pride ourselves on our full-service capabilities, encompassing program and design management, pre-construction, and diverse construction solutions. Our portfolio spans a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, and specialized projects. We believe in building not just structures, but lasting relationships, delivering projects with superior craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. Our collaborative culture and problem-solving approach ensure we consistently add value and exceed client expectations.

The Opportunity: As our Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in expanding PDG's market presence and securing new, high-value projects across Southern California. You will be a key ambassador for our brand, identifying emerging opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and articulating PDG's unique value proposition to prospective clients. This role is perfect for a proactive, strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the Southern California construction landscape and a passion for driving growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research: Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities within our target sectors, including affordable and luxury residential developments, fire rebuilds, hospitality, private schools, and specialized commercial projects across Southern California.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture strong, long-term relationships with private developers, architectural and design firms, public agencies, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Strategic Outreach: Develop and execute targeted business development strategies, leveraging a robust digital presence, compelling content marketing, and active participation in industry networking events and associations (e.g., AGC, BIASC).
  • Online Presence Management: Oversee and manage the company's online presence, including social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, to showcase projects, share business updates, engage with clients, and attract qualified leads.
  • Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of persuasive proposals and presentations that clearly articulate PDG's capabilities, innovative solutions, and tailored approach to meet client needs.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of evolving market trends, emerging construction technologies (such as AI, BIM, modular construction, and drone technology), and sustainable building practices (e.g., CALGreen compliance, heat pump integration) to identify competitive advantages and new opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our pre-construction, project management, and operations teams to ensure seamless client engagement and project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in business development within the commercial and/or residential construction industry in Southern California.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, pursuing, and securing significant construction projects.
  • Extensive network of established relationships with developers, architects, public sector contacts, and other industry influencers in the Southern California region.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions clearly and persuasively.
  • Understanding of various project delivery methods, including Construction Management, General Contracting, and Design-Build.
  • Familiarity with modern construction technologies and sustainable building practices is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and achieve ambitious growth targets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

Why PDG? This is a great opportunity to join a growing firm that values innovation, quality, and strong client relationships. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our future, contributing directly to our expansion in a dynamic market. We offer a collaborative work environment, competitive compensation, and the chance to be part of a team that builds the future of Southern California. Project bonuses are also available based on successfully bringing new projects to the company.

Ready to build with us? If you are a driven business development professional with a passion for construction and a desire to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you are the ideal candidate for Project Delivery Group.

PDG will offer a competitive compensation package based on applicant's experience and expertise.
