Overview
Brain Balance of Greater Baltimore is seeking an Assistant Director. The Assistant Director (AD) is a multifaceted position that helps ensure the success of the center. The AD provides assistance to the Center Director in day-to-day operations with a strong focus on communication. The ADs knowledge of the Brain Balance program and its features and benefits, coupled with clear, consistent, and compassionate communication, creates an excellent customer experience and journey at Brain Balance. Working as part of the BBGB center team, the AD will support the Program Director, Lead Coach, and Operations Director to encourage the center to operate as a well-oiled machine.

Brain Balance is a holistic brain health program that improves attention, cognition, and overall well-being through an integrated approach combining cognitive, physical, and sensory training with nutritional guidance. This program strengthens brain connectivity without medication, resulting in improved attention, behaviors, and social-emotional well-being. We work with children and adults to enhance their cognitive abilities, emotional regulation, and learning. We work with a neuro-divergent population that spans from undiagnosed challenges to ADHD, learning disabilities, and autism.
Position
The Assistant Director supports the Center Director in delivering an exceptional, best-in-class customer experience for students and families. This role is a key operational, outreach, and leadership position responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, high-quality client interactions, and community engagement. The focus of this position is to engage with current and newly enrolled families.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational & Administrative Support: Coordinate schedules, set appointments, manage the internal calendar, and oversee front desk operations.
- Ensure the center is organized, fully stocked, and visually appealing.
- Client Experience: Welcome and assist families upon arrival, guide them through procedures, oversee children during ROA/assessment chats, and promote center programs.
- Collect feedback, success stories, and Google reviews to support client engagement initiatives.
- Oversee center appearance and organization.
- Provide touchpoints and celebrations for participants and families.
- Meet and greet families at arrival or while they sit in the lobby and check in about scheduling, progress, etc.
- Outreach & Community Relations: Assist with planning and executing marketing, outreach events, and community lectures. Build partnerships with schools, small businesses, and local organizations to expand the centers presence.
- Sales & Enrollment: Conduct center tours, consultations, and enrollment appointments and associated initial enrollment tasks. Manage and respond to parent communications and concerns with professionalism and care.
- Staff Management: Onboard, train, and supervise new staff. Handle last-minute changes and adjust in the center and adjust staff.
- Program Support: Coordinate with the Program Director and Lead Coach to prepare for appointments, assist students during programming, and promote supplemental programs such as the nutrition aspect of the program.
- Center Promotion: Encourage parent testimonials and Google reviews, and support holiday/event decorations to create a welcoming environment.
Preferred Professional & Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred but not required with applicable experience.
- Background or experience in education, psychology, health care, or a movement/physical activity related field can be highly beneficial.
- This knowledge base allows for a deeper understanding of the program's impact on optimizing brain health and development.
- Childcare Experience (Formal or Informal): Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, the knowledge, skills, and abilities developed through working with children in both formal settingssuch as daycares, schools, camps, tutoring, or coachingand/or informal settings, including babysitting or nannying.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills: both verbal and written.
- Proficient with Google Drive and Microsoft Office applications/platforms, as well as social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
- Outgoing, adaptable, and able to take initiative in improving processes and client experience.
- Compassionate and empathetic toward students and families.

Job Details
- Part-Time with the potential to expand into a Full Time Position
- Minimum of 25 Hours per week
- This is largely an in person role with occasional work from home flexibility
- Brain Balance provides on the job training and mentors to prepare you with the background and knowledge necessary to excel within this role.
